Make Your Own Thoughts & Prayers™ At Home!

When you stretch out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not listen; your hands are full of blood. Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow.
— Isaiah 1:15-17 (NRSV)

I bought these ones off Amazon. $8 for so many prayers, wow! They're very handy for a lot of things too, so it's not like you're cornered into using these for good vibes.

2. Print some labels

I made my labels available here. They're four up on an 8.5" x 11" piece of paper, so just print at 100%, cut them out, and fold them in half. So easy!

I mean, it's not like God gave you free agency and commanded you to act in honor of other people (see the quote above), so you can probably just hug your package of Thoughts & Prayers and then be done with the whole thing.

  1. Do you hate God/Christians/prayer?
Nope, I love anybody who is willing to dedicate their lives to the idea of serving others and unconditionally loving them. I think one of the most noble things a person can do is choose to love, serve, and protect people who mean nothing to them.
  2. Are you making fun of prayer?
Nope, I'm making fun of people who believe that prayer is the last step to social change. As mentioned in the Bible quote above, God doesn't want to you to pray and then quit, he wants you to demonstrate your faith by acting upon it. Thinking and Praying is absolutely useless if you're not going to put in the work to make a change, that's quite literally written in the Bible.
  3. Can I sell my Thoughts & Prayers?
Probably not, but they make a great gift to send to your elected officials for them to think about. Thinking about Thinking & Praying... maybe we can bag those next?
